The latest addition to my Guitar collection is an Ibanez S6521Q Prestige. It's a quite simply fantastic guitar that i've bought primarily for use in my guitar lessons. I was looking for a new guitar as inspiration for my teaching, and Ibanez describe the S series as the ''Cutting Edge'' of their design. It seemed to ring well that my business is called cutting edge guitar, and that i should be using the cutting edge guitar from Ibanez, which has always been a brand at the cutting edge of guitar design anyway. Another big influence for me getting this guitar is that Since attending the guitar institute, i have become a huge fan of Frank Gambale's music, and my favourite two albums from him were recorded using his signature Ibanez model, which was based on the S series design. It has an ultra thin body, which makes it super comfy when teaching for long periods. The neck is to die for, also thin and wide which makes it superb for ripping around on. Playing scalar passages and fast technical guitar lines (which i do a lot!) are a joy on this guitar. It has a fixed bridge with locking tuners so changing strings and tuning is really easy. It's loaded with a Dimarzio Tone Zone in the bridge and an Air Norton in the neck. Click on each pickups name to find out more about each pickup. On this particular guitar i have a five way switch which offers awesome humbucking sounds and some very versatile split coil sound options, so i can go from pop, to rock, blues, metal, jazz, funk and fusion with ease on this guitar.
