What if pop songs have guitar solos?

The guitar's prevalence in modern pop has been on a steady decline since the early 2000s. Almost to the point that today, the guitar is rarely used in a modern pop tune at all, let alone with a guitar solo in there! when giving guitar lessons to younger students, I often find myself showing them a four-chord loop that repeats for bar after bar, which for most guitarist's is pretty boring. To keep things entertaining, I quite often play a solo over these tunes so students can see what you can really do with a guitar.
